Troubleshooting
A place is missing or listed wrong
Finding a place, fixing its activities, and what "No longer listed" means.
Search tips
- Try the town instead of the area's name, or a shorter word: "Sovereign" rather than "Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre".
- Nordic areas are often listed under their club's or trail system's name.
- Search covers every named, operating ski area in North America, near or far.
Not in the list at all
Snowpace's list comes from OpenSkiData, built from OpenStreetMap and Skimap.org. A place can be missing if it isn't mapped there, has no name, or is marked as not operating.
Snowpace can't edit the list, but anyone can correct the source: add or fix the area on OpenStreetMap, or on Skimap.org for areas OpenStreetMap doesn't cover. The fix reaches Snowpace within about a month. Not sure how? Email me and I'll help.
Wrong activities
The list only knows downhill and nordic. Nordic becomes classic and skate in Snowpace, and snowshoeing is assumed everywhere for now. If an area is tagged wrongly at the source, say as downhill when it only has cross-country trails, Snowpace shows the wrong activities until it's corrected there.
No longer listed
When a saved place drops out of the list, Snowpace doesn't delete it. It stays at the bottom of My places, marked No longer listed, with a Remove button. It usually means the area was renamed, merged, or marked as closed at the source. If it comes back, it's listed again.
This guide describes Snowpace 1.0.0.
